Robert Bayer is a dynamic Apostolic preacher. Many call him the walking Bible because he has it memorized – all of it! He preached for us in Norwich, CT back in the late eighties and blessed us tremendously. I was a young teenager then.
Our Pastor, Ren Rutledge shared many stories about him including the long drive on the Alaskan Highway. The idea was sprung by Brother Bayer who thought it was a good idea to rent a Jeep instead of fly. In frigid temperatures, they set off. There were many rather comical moments that followed. My favorite was when they ran off the road turning the vehicle on its side and had to be pulled out of the ditch by a tractor trailer.
